[FIRST LISTEN] 2AM Club "Every Evening"

2amclub

After releasing their debut LP "What Did You Think Was Going To Happen" and touring for most of 2010 and the first half of this year, genre-mashing pop outfit 2AM Club has returned to Los Angeles to write and record new music for their follow up album.

While being on the road, Marc (vocals), Tyler (vocals), Matt (guitar), Sauce (bass), Dave (drums) and Ian (keys) have collected a bunch of new ideas for their music. In anticipation of official new material, the group is sharing the brand-new "Every Evening" for fans to have and enjoy.

The song is a laid-back and summery slice of pop that neatly spotlights Marc's soulful vocals and Tyler's tight rhymes about always being young and living in the moment. "Falling in love every evening, so we just gonna stay teenage dreamers born this way," Marc sings, followed by Tyler who spits, "I'm using my heart like I got nothing to lose, like I've been handed the keys to every door that I choose."

Accentuating the group's unique brand of pop, "Every Evening" once again proves that 2AM Club is bursting with talent and packed with potential. These teenage dreamers are on the way up and I'm looking forward to hearing what they serve up next. (Download the track here.)

[VIDEO] Read The Story Behind Jessie J's New Single "Who You Are"

Jessie-j-wya

Jessie J belts her heart out on her stunning new single "Who You Are" that is the title track of her debut LP. The song comes along with a brand-new video that perfectly emphasizes the intensity of Jessie's vocal performance. Set in a sparse bedroom without any visual distractions, Jessie faces the camera head on and shares her story about being true to who you are no matter what others tell you.

"Who You Are" tells a very personal story that Jessie lived through when she lived in Los Angeles to work on her music and her aspirations were hanging on a thread. "The most important thing in life is to be happy, but everything had become too business and sterile," she explains. "I really thought I was going to quit—not music, but the music industry. It wasn't easy."

Jessie explains that writing "Who You Are" helped her cope with her struggle. "Instead of giving up, I wanted to write a song for myself to keep me going," she explains. "I had this lyric "don't loose yourself in the blur of the stars' and I really want to write a song about never editing who you are to please other people."

She adds, "Even a lyric like "you left the real me on the shelf' that was my way of saying that my label wanted me to be someone who I was not. 'Who You Are' really saved my musical life. It saved my belief in being artist and now it is saving other people. I want people to have a song that they can listen to, have a cry for 3 minutes and then move on."

The video for the "Who You Are" perfectly captures that raw emotion that ends with a rainstorm that washes away the tears and sorrow to make way for a fresh new start. Watch the video for "Who You Are" after the break.
