The release of Dev's much-anticipated debut LP "The Night The Sun Came Up" has been pushed back to November 1 to keep focus on her single "In The Dark" and to give her the opportunity to add a few more tracks to the record. Originally, the release of the album was scheduled for September 20. Universal Republic and Indie Pop together released a press statement today to elaborate on the delay of the album. The release states, "In order to expand the full album track-listing, Dev did not resist the impulse to go back into the studio recently with production duo The Cataracs to flesh out new ideas and round out this album as it nears release." "The expectant mother is eager to add a few new songs that reflect her recent experiences which she succinctly sums up as 'crazy, fun and unforgettable,'" the statement concludes. Dev's transformational current single, "In The Dark," is set up as the mainstream follow up to her dance-pop smash "Bass Down Low." "In The Dark" is rapidly gaining steam with new remixes from 50 Cent and Flo Rida, and is currently added to playlists at leading top 40 radio stations across North America. Europe and Asia are eyeing Dev as well and the singer will be adding more international promotion to turn "In The Dark" into a powerful pop platform that can be used as a launching pad for "The Night The Sun Came Up" globally. Meet Austin. He's a 16 year-old singer from Phoenix, Arizona who is gearing up to bring some fresh new soul to the pop scene. Listen to his new "Can't Get Enough" that he is going far and wide with online today to give people a taste of what's he's been working on. Originally from Memphis, TN, it should come as no surprise that he lists fellow Memphian Justin Timberlake as his number one inspiration alongside Michael Jackson and Usher. It's still early and at age 16, the singer can develop in many different directions, but there's raw talent here that must be explored. "Can't Get Enough" is a slick, tightly-produced R&B pop ditty that neatly showcases Austin's impressive soulful vocals that can take him places. Produced by E-Gram. Listen to Austin's "Can't Get Enough" after the break. Kat DeLuna's new single "Drop It Low" is a fitting nod to her Caribbean roots with its reggaeton-infused, booty-shaking beats. The song is taken from her current album "Inside Out" and since its release earlier this summer, the song is slowly but surely gaining momentum in the dance charts, on dancefloors and an FM radio station near you. You may remember that the New York City singer from Dominican descent first rose to fame in 2007 with "Whine Up" from her debut album "9 Lives." In fact, she worked with none other than producer RedOne on that album, which was not only a milestone for her, but also a breakthrough moment for the rising Moroccan-Swedish producer. RedOne's chart-topping work with DeLuna increased his profile and ultimately let to his ground-breaking work on Lady Gaga's "The Fame." "Drop It Low" is a fiery and fun dance-pop track just perfect for the very final days of summer. The guilt-free Hype Jones revamp doesn't stray too far from the exuberant original, but gives it a potent dancefloor buzz that is pretty darn irresistible. Listen and grab it after the break. Tinie Tempah is sure one lucky guy today. The British superstar rapper is a massive Back To The Future geek and as soon as Nike announced they would be producing a very limited edition of Back To The Future II Nike Mags kicks to support charity, Tempah was first in line to bid for a pair of these super advanced sneakers. According to reports, Tempah paid a hefty $37,500 for these very special pair of shoes. Nike will only auction off 1500 pairs of these special Nike Mags and all of the proceeds will benefit the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's disease research. So even though it seems that Tempah is splurging on some serious coolness, he's actually supporting a very important organization with the intent to change people's lives. (Check out the auction on eBay here.) On a related Tinie note, the MC will be my guest at the very first ARTIST #TALK that I'm hosting in close partnership with HP this upcoming Wednesday in New York City. Tinie will be discussing his inspirations, music and career, and also specifcally talk in-depth about a few of his songs. Read all about it here. More Recent Articles |
