Monarchy's brand-new "You Don't Want To Dance With Me" is all kinds of brilliant. After the undeniably catchy summer single "Maybe I'm Crazy," the mysterious electro-pop duo slows things down with their deliciously good new single that features guest vocals from Britt Love who was formerly with MiniViva. Yes, exactly. That poptastic Xenomania concoction who "left their heart in Tokyo" and departed from the pop scene way too early. Britt Love adds some sugar and spice to Monarchy's hum, pulsating bass line and hypnotic, layered synths that result in a forward pop sound of the crunchy kind. It's a tune you can chew on for a long while, and play over and over again without it ever loosing its bite. "You Don't Want To Dance With Me" is one of those rare tunes that is sonically forward, yet commercially very viable. "You Don't Want To Dance With Me" neatly balances its progressive production stylings with lyrics that are very relatable. The song tells the story about knowing exactly what want you even though it's completely out of reach. "You stole my true ambition. Got nothing left to gratify me. How do I get you to feel what I feel for you. I will hold on to you like a fool till my hands go blue," Monarchy's Ra Black and Britt Love harmonize. This new single is a revamped cut from Monarchy's debut album "Around The Sun" that was released earlier this summer and now spotlights Britt Love. While working on her own solo material, the songstress has been collaborating with Monarchy on a few different projects including this new single. She also performed with duo at this year's Lovebox festival in London. Listen to Monarchy "You Don't Want To Dance With Me" (feat. Britt Love) after the break. Prince Royce is one of Latin music's brightest new stars who is getting ready to impress the mainstream pop world with some new English-language crossover material. Check out the very sweet tastemaker "Addicted" to get a feel for Royce's emotive, passionate delivery and finely-tuned balladry that combines Tropical Latin with contemporary R&B pop rhythms. Hailing from the Bronx, NY, the 22 year-old Prince Royce is the son of Dominican parents who raised their baby boy on a steady diet of tropical beats, Latin pop and R&B. As a teenager, Royce started making his own music inspired by traditional Bachata. Bachata is a genre of Latin music that originates from the Dominican Republic and is marked guitar-driven stories about love, loss and longing. It is one of those touching genres of music that perfectly aligns with Spanish and its subtle capability to invoke romance and emotion unlike any other language. Royce created a youthful new version of Bachata that took the Latin music world by storm. His self-titled debut album was an instant sensation that garnered him not only chart success but also critical-acclaim. "Prince Royce" was certified double platinum in the U.S. and the singer received Billboard Award nominations, plus a coveted nod at the Latin GRAMMYS for Best Contemporary Tropical Album. With the help of Atlantic Records, Prince Royce is now looking to cross over into the pop and R&B mainstream with his forthcoming new English-language album that will feature "Addicted." He's also a special guest on the U.S. leg of Enrique Iglesias' Euphoria Tour, alongside Pitbull, to introduce his music to American audiences. Be in the know early, and listen to "Addicted" after the break. Fresh off her NYLON sponsored summer tour and a trip to Africa, Ellie Goulding returned the States last week for New York's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. The British singer had a jam-packed schedule, gracing the front rows of runway shows by Charlotte Ronson, Betsey Johnson & Jeremy Scott in addition to performing at SAKS Fifth Avenue as well as the FABB Fashion & Beauty conference and a rooftop set for LUCKY magazine. Ellie kicked off Fashion's Night Out with a special performance at the Niketown Flagship store on 57th, followed by a run with the training club through Central Park, before hitting the Dolce & Gabbana and. Opening Ceremony parties in the city. Such a busy bee. Check out an interview with Hollywire from the Jeremy Scott show in which Ellie not only talks about her experience at fashion week, but also drops some major new clues about her new music ("the same, but slightly more epic") and hints at another U.S. tour but stays mum about exact details. "I can't talk about it," she whispers or something to that effect. It's likely she is referring to her freshly-announced tour dates with Katy Perry this fall, but perhaps there's more in the works. Watch the brief interview after the break. Zowie once again moves to the beat of her own drum on her excellent new single "Smash It." The emerging New Zealand pop singer stays true to her distinct brand of stomp pop that demonstrates her obsession with beats and her commitment to crush things with her rock-edged electro sound. Given Zowie's self-admitted urge to whip, devastate, crush, demolish and pound things with her rhythm stick, it should come as no surprise that songs like "Love Demolition," "Bite Back" and "Broken Machine" are now followed by the unambiguous "Smash It." Zowie may be shy in person, but on stage she turns fiery and likes to break it down without being questioned. Recorded in Los Angeles, "Smash It" soars nicely from its hyper-rhythmic, cheery verses before to a glossy and instantly catchy pop chorus. Pretty darn ferocious. This is one of Zowie's most potent tunes to date that is already catching fire downunder and will surely impact the Northern Hemisphere soon. "Smash It" was produced by none other than Jimmy Harry (Oh Land, Pink, Jessie & The Toyboys) and mixed by Michael Patterson (Nine Inch Nails, P Diddy, Jennifer Lopez). After releasing her punchy cover of Gym Class Heroes' "Stereo Hearts," more Anjulie goodness is unleashed upon us today exclusively here on ArjanWrites.com. Grab a totally guilt-free MP3 remix of Anjulie's new single "Brand New B*tch" that was produced by Dutch beat slayer Laidback Luke. The graffiti artist turned DJ/producer adds a propulsive, big room quality to Anjulie's girl power pop anthem that is sure to devastate a dance floor near you. This remix helps to create more awareness for Anjulie's new single that already has been certified gold in Canada and its video has garnered almost half a million views on YouTube. In a recent interview with AOL Music, Anjulie talks a little more about her poppier new direction after she first hit the scene in 2009 with "Boom." "It's really important to me to write my music so my fans can relate to me in a real way," she explains. "I tried singing other peoples lyrics and I failed miserably. I'm not an interpreter, I'm a creator. It also gives me the luxury of playing with different genres. I'm not defined by pop, rock, hip-hop, electro or dance. I wanted the first single to be something that says 'I'm here.'" She also reveals in the interview that the track "Sex-Ed," her collaboration with rising pop producer Dr Rosen Rosen that is featured on his free "Girls" EP, was intended for none other than Sky Ferreira. "We got our '80s on working in his home studio (. . .) We ended up keeping the song for his EP because [Sky Ferreira] didn't want it." Look out for Anjulie's sophomore album in early 2012 that will features collaborations with Jonas Jerberg, JOB, Michel Zitron, Swedish House Mafia and Benny Benassi.
