[REMIX] Lana Del Rey " Video Games" (Club Clique For The Bad Girls Remix)

Ldr-clique

When Manchester's production collective and club DJs Club Clique first heard Lana Del Rey's wondrous "Video Games" it was love at first sight. They were immediately grabbed by the track's pop brilliance and decided to give the song a spin of their own. "We knew instantly that it needed to be stripped down and rebuilt for the Club Clique dancefloor, with fingerclicks, disco strings and glittering pop magic," they write me enthusiastically.

The original "Video Games" is a finely-tuned pop marvel courtesy of producers ROBOPOP that spotlights Del Rey's impeccable and one-of-a-kind vocal delivery that is both sultry and sweet. Plus, her arresting presence and glammy '50s pinup aesthetic rounds up her irresistible pop offering

Quite franky, the original "Video Games" does't skip a beat and leaves nothing to be improved upon. But Club Clique does a nice job taking the track and giving it a few new bells & whistles without ever straying too far from the original. Club Clique writes me, "Lana is exactly like the kind of girl who comes to our clubnight Clique so it was our duty to remake this incredible song for girls like her to dance to at our club." Listen and download it after the break.

[NEWS] Swedish House Mafia to Play Madison Square Garden

After writing yesterday that Euro-styled dance music in American is more than just a fad and in fact a lasting new music movement, there's more proof of that today. Genre-defining, boundary-pushing electronic dance music juggernaut Swedish House Mafia announced this afternoon that they will play two historic, landmark "One Night Stand" shows on both sides of the Atlantic as they will headline New York City's famed Madison Square Garden on Friday, December 16, 2011 and Britain's legendary 65,000 capacity Milton Keynes National Bowl on July 14, 2012. Check out a special video announcement above.

These two milestone shows will see Swedish House Mafia - Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso - make history by becoming the first dance act to have headlined both venues putting them in the same league as many superstar acts. People like Madonna, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Billy Joel, The Rolling Stones, The Who, U2 and many others have played Madison Square Garden but this is the first time a full on dance act takes centerstage.

The Swedish dance trio is also set to release a live album "One Night Stand" (date TBA) taken from the road this year. The album will feature their much sought-after, previously unavailable Coldplay Vs Swedish House Mafia "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" plus "Antidote," their new collaboration with Knife Party (Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen from Pendulum).

Tickets for the Madison Square Garden show on December 16 will go on sale next Friday, September 30th at www.livenation.com. There will be a 24-hour fan pre-sell through the Swedish House Mafia Facebook page on September 29 starting at 10:00am EST.
