Katy Perry's California Dreams Tour is one of the best pop shows I've seen this year. Directed by Baz Halpin, it's a colorful and vibrant stage show filled with candy props that is the perfect backdrop for Perry's self-assured, sugar-coated brand of pop. It's packed with an adult sense of humor and plenty of wit that make it a show appropriate for all ages.
Perry's team produced a fun backstage video with candid clips from her various U.S. tour stops, including scenes with special guest Robyn, Perry fans, her dancers, security people, her band and all the other people that are involved in the massive production of the California Dreams Tour. Plus, none other than our fave Katy Beth Terry makes a cameo as well as if she walked straight off the set from the "Last Friday Night." video.
In the video, Robyn sums up nicely how Perry is able to connect to her fans in such a big and profound way in everything she does. "She knows what it's like to be those girls in the audience," Robyn explains. "She knows how to talk to them and she does it a really funny, witty and respectful way. She knows their language." (Watch the video after the break.)
