You may remember that I first alerted you about rising Danish pop sensation Fallulah when I blogged about her single "Out Of It" back in February. After it hit the top of the pop chart in Denmark, the song is now gaining traction internationally and has been released on Sony/Jive in select territories around the world.
The single is getting a steady push with the release of a bunch of remixes, including this hot little Parisian disco remake of Italian producer Monsieur Adi. Fallulah describes the original version as a "hot tempered" mix of "indie rock with Balkan beats" and Adi takes that into a while new direction. He stays true to his baroque roots and knack for electro with this finely-detailed and classically powerful revamp of "Out Of It" that is bound to get you moving. (Download MP3)
Fallulah is already a pretty established name in Denmark. She is the daughter of a Danish mother and a Romanian father who grew up traveling across Europe with a Balkanic dance troupe that her parents performed in. As a teenager, she decided to pursue a professional career in dancing and even lived in New York City for short while to take classes at the Broadway Dance Center. But it was ultimately her deep love for music that led her to leave her dance classes to start spending time in the recording studio to write music. Look for more of her music very soon.
Lots of fan videos and new remixes hit the web yesterday to celebrate Britney Spears' 30th birthday. Yes, that's right. The pop icon hit the big three-zero and that sure was a good moment to celebrate all the pop goodness she has delivered over the last decade.
Our friends at MTV Buzzworthy created one of the most inspired video tributes to Spears that is totally brilliant and "slightly obsessive." The video shows just another casual work day at the MTV offices that clearly demonstrates how "Britney's inspired and affected" the daily lives of the the fine folks at MTV. You must go and watch it and make sure to count the number of Britney references. (Look out for the Moon man in a cubicle as well.)
New Los Angeles dance pop label Cali Cartel shared a brand-new remix of Britney Spears' "Till The World Ends" to celebrate the star's birthday. They put a whole new spin on the soaring original with a slow-churning new groove and a deliciously bouncy bassline. Slightly dark, but hardly twisted.
