Cris Cab brings a welcome dose of sunshine pop during the dark days of winter with his new "In Your Dreams." It's the first song he unveils from his forthcoming new mixtape that he will release in partnership with Billionaire Boys Club, Pharrell William's fashion and lifestyle brand.
You may remember that I first introduced you to the 17 year-old Miami crooner back in June when I posted his track "My Life" that was taken from his independently-released debut EP. Inspired by artists like Jack Johnson and John Mayer, Cab serves up comparable heartfelt guitar pop, but he adds a youthful and a breezy, chill out quality to what he does that stays true to his Cuban roots and Miami upbringing.
Cab has been playing the guitar and writing songs ever since his early teenage years. After gigging at local Miami clubs, the singer's big break came when none other than Pharrell Williams caught one of his shows and was impressed by his talent. Williams publicly endorsed the young singer and has been working with him to further develop his music while maintaining his own distinct sound.
Cab writes that he recorded "In My Dreams" for his fans that have supported him "since day one." It was important for him to release this track first in anticipation of his new mixtape, a project that will surely push him up to a new level of notoriety. Staying true to its happy-go-lucky vibe, Cab encourages everyone on "In My Dreams" to never stop dreaming because "stuck in the real world, life's just to plain."
In the song's chorus, Cab adds, "It all happens in my dreams, nothing is ever as it seems." But with some killer tunes, genuine talent and the glowing support of Pharrell Williams, Cab's dream of making it big in music may just come true sooner than he thinks. (Download MP3)
