You may remember Swedish pop darling September from her global smash "Cry For You" that had her at the top of the charts for months back in 2005. Two albums and a few more hit tracks later, she's back with the brand-new "Party In My Head" that is climbing up the chart in Sweden and is getting international interest as well. The song is the opening track from her new LP "Love CPR" that was released in the U.S. back in September.
"Party In My Head" is just the right title for this uncomplicated pop tune. With the darker days of fall and grim news headlines all around us, the fun and frolicky "Party In My Head" is just the right pick me up. It's an earworm of a song that will hit you with flu-like strength and have you tapping along the moment it hits. The video for the single was just released that shows September occupying all of Manhattan.
The song was written by Wayne Hector, Lucas Secon, Daniel Davidsen, Peter Wallevik and Mich Hansen, and was additionally produced by Lucas Secon, Cutfather, Daniel Davidsen and Peter Wallevik.
The Stereotypes sure know how to write and produce smash hits. The GRAMMY nominated trio of Jon Street, RayRo and Jerm Beat have cooked up tunes for artists like Far East Movement, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Danity Kane and Fantasia which has helped solidify their reputation as one of the hottest production teams in America who are only just getting started.
When they are not working on other people's songs or digging up exciting new talent (more about that later), the group also likes to crank out some tunes for themselves. Together with Houston rapper Three, they have formed hip pop outfit JON MCXRO (pronounced as tennis player John McEnroe) as a side project to keep their creative juices flowing.
This week, JON MCXRO releases their debut mixtape "The Fifth Of Never" that they are giving away totally guilt-free right here. Expecting that this project would never see the light of day and would just be an experimental project, "The Fifth Of Never" is a fun hip pop effort that takes you right back to the colorful early days of hip hop with its throwback grooves and clever lyrical wit. "The Fifth Of Never" is filled with cameos including vocal appearances by D.A. Wallach of Chester French, Sterling Simms, Miguel and heartthrob Travis Garland.
Check the gently grooving "Somewhere In Italy" that features Three's punchy rhymes and Travis Garland oh-so soulful vocals that layer perfectly on The Stereotypes' breezy production. Pretty darn delicious. Make sure to grab "The Fifth Of Never Here" right here.
British pop outfit The Wanted are wrapping up another tremendously successful year. The group of Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, James McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Syke continues to serve up smash hits across Europe. They sold an impressive 450,000 units of their eponymous debut album and racked up 50 millions views on YouTube to date. With all that success, North America is starting to pay attention as well.
It hasn't been easy for British boy bands to break in North America but Mercury Records in the U.S. is up for the challenge. First priority is to build a loyal fanbase online who can help spread the word about the group. The Wanted's music will also be strategically placed on TV and radio to get mainstream audiences slowly but surely familiar with their music. A good example of that are The Wanted's recent features on Simon Cowell's X Factor in the U.S.
In an interview with Billboard, Island Records co-president Ted Cockle adds that a full push for The Wanted in the U.S. should be expected early 2012. "Nobody is getting carried away," Cockle tells Billboard. "Sometimes people end up in America because you just feel that it's the right thing to do. This one is a definite pull from the States rather than us pushing. But we're more than happy to have a run at it."
While things are starting to bubble in America, The Wanted have announced details of their brand new single, "Warzone," to be released on January 8 in Europe. The single comes hot on the heels of the chart success of "Lightning," the band's 5th top five single in the U.K, which can be considered quite exceptional in a career that has spanned only a little over a year.
Co-written by Max and Nathan, the song tells a story of bitter heartache and pain. "You're the reason we started this fight," the five harmonize on this gut-wrenching ballad that comes with a subtle dub-step touch, which gives the song a compelling British flair. The video for "Warzone," filmed in Brooklyn, New York, was directed by Director X, who previously directed their video for "Glad You Came." Watch the brand-new video for "Warzone" after the break.
