[FIRST LISTEN] The Killers "The Cowboy Christmas Ball" Holiday Single

As I reported this weekend, The Killers set some aside during their current studio sessions to record a special holiday single to benefit charity to keep up with their annual tradition. After "A Great Big Sled" (2006), "Don't Shoot Me Santa" (2007), "Joseph, Better You Than Me" (2008), "Happy Birthday Guadalupe" (2009) and "Boots" (2010), the group now presents "The Cowboy Christmas Ball."

"The Cowboy Christmas Ball" is a cover of Michael Martin Murphy's 1991 original that the Vegas four have updated with some new lyrics to reflect their Nevada roots. Featuring wintery holiday chimes and talk about life in the great outdoors, "The Cowboy Christmas Ball" is a joyous piece of Americana that fits the season perfectly.

All proceeds of the single will benefit the RED Campaign that fights HIV/AIDS in Africa. Make sure to purchase the single when it drops in a digital store near you tomorrow to join The Killers in raising awareness and funds. In addition to purchasing the single, you can also design an online quilt and pledge to share the story about the fight against HIV/AIDS around the world with friends and family.

[FIRST LISTEN] Mike Posner To Release New Single "Looks Like Sex"

Posner-looks-like-sex

Mike Posner gets his pop on on his brand-new single that he unleashed today. Posner's fresh new ditty is titled "Looks Like Sex" and is taken from his forthcoming sophomore LP, "Sky High." That album is the follow up to his breakthrough debut record "31 Minutes To Takeoff" that includes the hits "Cooler Than Me," "Please Don't Go" and the Bruno Mars-penned "Bow Chicka Wow Wow" which featured Lil' Wayne.

Posner continues where "31 Minutes To Takeoff" left off with this new single. Paced by a mid-tempo, synthesized club groove (with an intro reminiscent of M83's "Midnight City"), "Looks Like Sex" is a sultry electro pop joint that is dominated by Posner's hoarse vocal tone and a splashy chorus that will surely be picked up quickly by radio programmers. Lyrically, Posner tells a fratastic tale about flirting with the girl of his desire. "You can sleep with the minute men, but I'm all night long," he boasts, staying true to his signature swag.

For a good taste of more new Posner music, make sure to check out his new mixtape "The Layover" that he released on November 20 and which includes a very good good cover of Oasis' timeless classic "Wonderwall." "Looks Like Sex" ships to radio this week and will be available for sale at all digital providers on December 6.

[GIG REVIEW] Lykke Li Enchants Atlanta With Impressive Live Performance

Lykke li 450

Lykke Li may not be played  on your radio every day or even featured on music video channels frequently. However, with the release of her second album "Wounded Rhymes" earlier this year, the Swedish alt-pop singer has found herself gaining more attention and momentum in North America.

With her music appearing in movies and television shows such as The Twilight Saga and Glee, Lykke's music is becoming more and more beloved everyday. None of this was more apparent than her sold out show at the Buckhead Theater in Atlanta, GA.

As the fans piled in, the excitement was evident from the beginning as many people screamed and cheered anticipating the wait, but before the main event, Lykke had a special treat in store. Her fellow hometown residents First Aid Kit took the stage to open and start the night off right.

The sisters Johanna and Klara accompanied by a drummer, showed off their amazing vocals singing "What's Going to Save Me," and "Hard Believer," as well as other tracks from the debut album "The Big Black & The Blue." While both of the sisters have incredibly strong voices individually, together it is an amazing force that sounds perfectly harmonized and perfectly beautiful. After making the announcement of their new album releasing on January 24, the sisters closed their set with the title track "The Lion's Roar," leaving with a loud applause and smiling faces.

After a brief intermission, the lights completely shut off and the smoke slowly concealed the stage. The sounds of heavy drums filled the air and the strobelights began to flash. After a minute of build up anticipation, Lykke and her band dressed in all black were finally revealed. After an enormous eruption from the crowd, Lykke grabbed a drumstick to bang on a cymbal and tom, getting the night started with "I'm Good I'm Gone" and having everyone up and dancing. Lykke in good spirts and all smiles slowed down the excitement to show off her vocals performing "Sadness Is A Blessing" and giving the audience a more intimate and cherished vibe.
