After I first introduced you to the video of MNEK's "If Truth Be Told" a few weeks ago, the song is now available for fans to download as a single. It's a totally fun tune that innovatively combines the young artist's knack for melody with his fine soundboard savvy and his love for retro '80s sonic stylings. "If Truth Be Told" is now available as a digital download in both the U.S. and Europe on Moshi Mosh Records and is a re-make of a demo that I first featured on this blog in 2009. The tune's incredibly catchy hook remains, but he buffed up the song's production and gave it a glossy new shine that is quite frankly too irresistible to be denied. Only 17 years-old, MNEK is an incredibly talented producer who has been working with many other up and comers, including Florrie, Wynter Gordon and The Saturdays. In fact, he co-wrote The Saturday's "All Fired Up" together with Xenomania that is currently a top 5 hit in the U.K. He also has produced some banging remixes for Frankmusik, CocknBullKid, Duran Duran, Florrie and his good pal Tinie Tempah. The self-proclaimed "anti-teen pop star" even caught the ear of Kelis with his "Stunting On These Hoes" beat and Nike who featured "Lunar Riddim" in a television campaign. And more MNEK goodness is coming. He writes me, "Good shit on the horizon, people, good shit." (Support new pop and download "If Truth Be Told" on iTunes in the U.S. or Europe.) More Recent Articles
